Sindh’s Minister for Local Government, Information, Religious Affairs, and Forests, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has suspended the Director of the Karachi Zoo, Khalid Hashmi, for charging visitors extra parking fees.
According to the details, the provincial minister had received numerous complaints from citizens about having been charged Rs. 100 as the parking fee at the Karachi Zoo instead of the approved amount of Rs. 30, following which he took notice of the situation and debarred the director of the zoo.

Minister Shah also directed the concerned authorities to arrest the parking lot employees for their roles in the matter.
“SSP South should arrest the parking staff and register a case against them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister Shah has also directed the management of the Karachi Zoological Gardens to take the necessary steps for the welfare of animals and to prioritize their health, accommodation, and hygiene. He announced that the government will help to build a bigger safari park to accommodate the growing population and needs of animals.
