CDA will install a ticketing and Information Technology (IT) system at the metro bus stations before starting the service.

The federal government directed the civic body to take over the project and asked the Interior Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, to devise a plan for the smooth transfer of the project to CDA.

The 25.6-kilometer project was inaugurated in 2017 and was expected to be operational by August 2018, however it was delayed due to financial constraints.
