Peshawar Police have arrested two female muggers involved in stealing valuables from passengers on BRT buses.
A spokesperson for Peshawar Police said that both muggers had stolen expensive mobile phones and cash from female citizens on BRT buses within the jurisdiction of Tehkal police station.

According to details, a female resident of Kohat Road had filed a complaint in Tehkal police station, contending that female muggers had stolen her mobile phone and cash from her purse on a BRT bus.
SP Cantt, Muhammad Tahir, took notice of the complaint and formed a special team consisting of DSP Town, Arshad Khan, SHO Tehkal, Sajjad Ahmed, along with female officers, to arrest the muggers operating on BRT buses.

After interrogating several suspects using BRT’s CCTV footage, the special team conducted a successful operation and arrested both female muggers from Tehkal.
Both culprits, who are residents of Nowshehra, have confessed to their crimes during the preliminary investigation. The special team has also recovered six stolen mobile phones and Rs. 5,000 cash from the criminals and further probe is underway after registration of the FIR.
