In view of the prevailing COVID-19 trend and rising positivity ratio, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting earlier today has taken important decisions to curb the spread of COVID-19 disease.
According to details, NCOC has directed concerned authorities to ensure strict compliance with SOPs across the country.
Educational institutes in 7 cities across Punjab and Islamabad have been shut down for a period of two weeks. Schools, colleges, and universities in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad will get spring vacations starting from Monday and will end on 28th March.
District administrations will be responsible for imposing Smart Lockdowns (SLDs) and Micro (SLDs) based on the prevalence of COVID-19.
While 50% work from home policy will come into immediate effect in Islamabad, provinces have been recommended to implement the policy as well.
All commercial activities except essential businesses across the country will shut down at 10 PM with immediate effect while amusement parks across the country will close at 6 PM.
The earlier decision of allowing indoor weddings, indoor dining, and the opening of cinemas and shrines on 15 March has been postponed.
However, outdoor dining/takeaway will continue to remain open as per previous practice. Outdoor gatherings will also continue with a maximum of 300 individuals with strict enforcement of COVID-19 SOPs.
NCOC will meet again on 12 April to review the abovementioned decisions.
