Honor is Launching a High-End Flagship Phone in July

It has been four months since Huawei officially announced separation from its subsidiary Honor. In January, Honor launched its first phone as an independent company and is now gearing up to launch its first flagship in July.

Reportedly, the company will launch the device as part of the Honor Magic lineup. The smartphone will most likely be powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC. Unfortunately, nothing else about the smartphone is known as of yet, however, since the launch is only a few months away, more details will be unveiled over the next months.

In December last year, while interacting with commenters on Weibo, Honor’s CEO Zhao Ming revealed his plans of launching a flagship smartphone in the future. He also confirmed that Honor plans on rolling out a Mate-series and a P-series of smartphones like Huawei.

Since the company is now independent, the US-imposed sanctions that prevented Huawei from procuring important components for smartphones do not apply to Honor. The company can now easily source the required parts, even from US-based companies. This also means that all Honor phones will come with Google services and apps.

In other news, recent reports suggest that Honor is already in talks with Qualcomm and MediaTek to reach a deal for chipsets to power the brand’s upcoming devices. Moreover, it is also planning to launch an Honor Mall online store and new offline stores.
