New Windows 10 Update Fixes Crashes Due to Printers

Over the past week, Windows 10 was plagued by a new issue that would cause the OS to crash if your machine was connected with a printer. If you had been getting the blue screen of death (BSOD) while trying to print something, then the latest Windows update should help resolve the issue.

With the release of this Windows update, Microsoft said that this issue is only affecting “certain printers using some apps,” but that does not clarify much. It appears that the issue was plaguing printers from brands including Kyocera, Ricoh, and Zebra and halting the workflow for many, even for those who only print documents occasionally.

If you are still suffering from this issue, you can download the latest Windows updates by going into Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and clicking Check for Updates. We can only hope that the latest update does not bring new frustrating bugs or issues, but that may be asking for too much given Windows’s track record.

Speaking of upcoming updates, the latest one also aims to bring a handful of new UI updates, improvements to apps, updates to the clipboard, and a variety of bug fixes for a list of issues.
