CAA Bans Serving Water to Passengers on Domestic Flights

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed a ban on serving water to passengers on domestic flights amidst the surge in coronavirus cases, and passengers will be given disposable water bottles instead.

According to the notification by the Director-General of the CAA, the bottles will be placed on each seat before the passengers board the airplanes, to ensure further safety.

The development came after a similar ban on serving food on domestic flights. The purpose behind these measures is to minimize the interaction between the airlines’ staff and passengers in compliance with the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

All domestic flight operators have been directed to adhere strictly to the SOPs issued by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) amidst the third wave of the pandemic.
