The Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have intensified countrywide operations against smuggled and non-duty paid cigarettes.

The IREN Rawalpindi Team has confiscated 1,800,000 cigarettes worth Rs. 5.67 million found in 180 cartons in a case of attempted evasion of the payment of Rs. 3.79 million in duty and tax.
