After launching the first TCL 20 series handset last year, the company has now extended the lineup with three new additions – the 20L, 20L+, and 20 Pro 5G. As the name suggests, the TCL 20 Pro 5G comes with beefier specifications including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G SoC, a high-end display, and a 48 MP camera setup.
The TCL 20L and 20L+ are more modest devices with Snapdragon 662 SoC, an LCD, and limited memory options.
Design and Display
The TCL 20L and 20L+ have an identical design featuring an elongated rectangular camera aisle, a side-mounted display, and a plain back.
The phones are built around a similar 6.67-inch IPS LCD punch-hole display with 1080p resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 84 percent screen to body ratio, and 395 PPI density.
Internals
Internally, both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC topped with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.
They run Android 11 with the TCL UI on top. For connectivity, both phones come with Bluetooth 5.0 and Dual-band Wi-Fi, but the mobile data connectivity is limited to 4G.
Cameras
The main difference between the two handsets is their camera systems. TCL 20L has a quad-sensor camera on the back with a 48 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide snapper with a 123-degree field of view, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 16 MP shooter.
The 20L+ model, on the other hand, has a slightly higher-end camera system that swaps the 48 MP sensor with a 64 MP sensor. The rest of the specifications are the same.
Battery and Pricing
Both handsets pack a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The toned-down TCL 20L is available for sale and costs €229 while the 20L+ goes for €269.
