ICSP Makes Shocking Revelations Regarding COVID-19 Variants in Pakistan

Infection Control Society of Pakistan (ICSP) has claimed that Brazil, South Africa, and the UK strains of Coronavirus are responsible for a large part of the total COVID-19 cases in Karachi in the ongoing third wave of the viral infection.

ICSP’s claim is based on the analysis of 3,510 COVID-19 positive samples obtained between December 2020 and February 2021, showing that these three strains accounted for 54% of these cases.

The COVID-19 positivity ratio of Karachi between September and November 2020 stood at 1.5% which jumped to 7.6% between December 2020 and February 2021.

This sharp increase in positivity ratio shows that these three variants were imported to Pakistan from the countries where they were rampant before and during November 2020.
