Trump Launches His Own Platform After Removal From Twitter

Earlier this year, former US President Donald Trump was banned by Twitter and suspended by Facebook and YouTube after the Capitol riots. Hence, to get his word out to his followers, Trump announced that he has launched a new communications platform where content ‘straight from the desk’ of the Former President will be published.

Users of the platform will be able to share their thoughts as well as repost the content on other social media the likes of Facebook and Twitter. This move by Trump comes a day after Facebook announced that it is going to hold a board meeting to decide whether they want to permanently ban Trump or not.

In March, Trump’s senior adviser, Jason Miller, had hinted that they were working on a social media platform. He said,

This new platform is going to be big.

However, last week he changed his statement tweeting that the new website was not the social media platform he had previously hyped. He wrote,

We’ll have additional information coming on that front in the very near future.

The site already has several posts. Trump claims that it is a safe haven that will allow people to speak freely. However, we all know where this will go. There are already some posts on the platform claiming the recent US presidential elections were rigged.
