Rashid Latif Finally Exposes Wasim Akram’s Match Fixing

Former wicket-keeper, Rashid Latif, took a sly dig at the legendary fast bowler, Wasim Akram, recommending him to watch a TV series based around franchise cricket and match-fixing. Latif’s comments came after Akram asked for suggestions for any activity during quarantine.

Akram, who is the president of the PSL franchise, Karachi Kings, is currently spending time in quarantine with the rest of the touring party for the remainder of PSL 6, asked his followers on Twitter to suggest any TV show or movie, as he has already watched the majority of them on Netflix and Amazon Prime.

While the fans did recommend a few things, former teammate, Latif, saw this as an opportunity to take a dig at the legendary fast bowler.

Latif tweeted, “Quarantine should provide a real good chance for the players and management to watch Prime Video series on franchise cricket and fixing ‘Inside Edge.’ Some may feel they did the same. Enjoy.”

Latif’s tweet garnered over 800 likes and 90 retweets, and interestingly, it was closed for comments. Although it wasn’t directly targeted towards Wasim Akram, the timing certainly suggested that Rashid Latif did it deliberately.

During his playing days, Latif was highly regarded as the best wicket-keeper in Pakistan, but he was more often than not left out of the playing squad during the reign of Akram as the captain, with fellow wicket-keeper, Moin Khan, getting the nod ahead of him.

There have also been numerous reports linking Akram with involvement in match-fixing, claims which Akram himself has denied on several occasions.
