Hasan Ali Explains His Sledging Incidents with de Kock and Jongwe [Video]

Hasan revealed the details in a video chat with the renowned cricket journalist, Mazher Arshad, on Cricwick.

Hasan said that the incident with Jongwe was a bit of fun. There was no serious malice to the conversation between the two, and it just happened in the heat of the moment. He said that Jongwe hit him for a boundary in the first innings and got out the very next ball, and Jongwe got angry as he celebrated the wicket in the usual manner.

In the next innings, Jongwe struck Hasan for another boundary and told him to ‘go and fetch the ball,’ which made Hasan angry.

Hasan jokingly said in the interview, “Hum bhi jutt hain aur ooper say Punjabi hain, humein phir ghussa aajata hai! (I am a Jutt and a Punjabi, I am bound to get angry).”

Mazher also asked him about the incident with Quinton de Kock during a Test match held earlier in the year at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Hasan said that de Kock got angry as Hasan was bowled off a no-ball and complained to the umpires that it wasn’t a no-ball and these are ‘Pakistani rules.’ de Kock further instigated by abusing Hasan, which made him retaliate. Hasan said that he told de Kock to not bring Pakistan into this and do not abuse. The umpires intervened and cooled off the situation.
