Microsoft to Announce New Windows This Month

Microsoft originally announced Windows 10 in 2014. Since then, the operating system has received several updates bringing new features over the years. However, the company has stuck to the same name for the OS all these years.

This is about to change. In a recent announcement, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President, Modern Life, Search & Devices Group, Yusuf Mehdi, disclosed that the company is going to announce a new version of Windows on 24th June.

The executive retweeted a tweet by the official Windows account that said there will be an event on June 24 along with a teaser video that hints at it being related to the Windows operating system. Although the original tweet didn’t say what the launch is for, Mehdi confirmed that the launch is for a newer version of Windows.

Microsoft has also sent out invites for the event. Moreover, the company’s CEO, Satya Nadella, as well as Chief Product Officer, Panos Panay, will be presenting at the event.

Leaks and rumors suggest that the new version will launch as Windows 11. It will come with visual changes such as new icons, an improved file explorer, and improved Bluetooth audio support. There are speculations that some features in the revamped Windows will also be borrowed from the now killed Windows 10X operating system.
