Here’s When This Year’s First Solar Eclipse Will Happen

The first solar eclipse of the ongoing year will be seen on June 10. This was announced by the Director Institute of Space Science and Technology Karachi University, Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal on Monday.

The solar eclipse will not be visible in most parts of the world, and will only be seen in Russia, Greenland, Northern Canada, North Asia, Europe, and the United States, Dr. Iqbal said.

According to him, the eclipse will start at 1:12 pm Pakistani time, would peak at 3:42 pm, and expectedly end at 4:34 pm.

“A ring of fire will be visible during the solar eclipse,” he added.

Earlier, the first lunar eclipse of the year 2021, which was a ‘Super Flower Blood Moon’, took place on May 26. Just like the solar eclipse, the Super Blood Moon was also not visible in Pakistan as it occurred during the daytime.

The lunar eclipse began at 11:39 am in the day, according to Pakistan Standard Time (PST). A complete eclipse, when the Earth is directly between the Sun and Moon, began at 4:11 pm and lasted till 6:05 pm.
