According to the budget documents, Rs. 9 billion has been set as a targeted levy from mobile phones for the upcoming fiscal year (FY2021-22). For the outgoing fiscal year (FY2020-21), the budgeted levy was Rs. 5.8 billion, the documents showed.
The government will review the rationalization of regulatory duty on import of Mobile Phones to encourage import substitution, noted the budget documents.
