Chairman SECP Policy Board Resigns

Syed Mahosud Naqvi has resigned from the Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Policy Board position.

According to the details, Naqvi has communicated to the government that he has resigned from the chairman as well as member positions on medical grounds.

The government had appointed him the chairman of the policy board on May 30, 2020.

Sources told Propakistani that the government can give the acting charge of chairman policy board to the incumbent Finance secretary till the appointment of a regular incumbent.

There are 11 members of the SECP policy board including six from the private sector and the rest are government officials.

It is pertinent to note that the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) government had appointed the Chairman Policy board from the private sector.

Earlier, the Secretary of Finance used to chair the meeting of the policy board SECP.
