Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan recently tweeted a video of Matta, Swat, which is one of several targets of the mass plantation drives under the government’s 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project.
“Matta in Swat – Barren hills turning green. Incredible results from our Billion Tree Tsunami campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he stated.

The PM added, “InshaAllah we will leave a clean and green Pakistan for future generations”.

The drive had been initiated in 2018 on the back of the momentum of the previous Billion Tree Tsunami (a tree plantation campaign launched in 2014 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), and the World Wild Life Fund (WWF) expects it to add more green to the grey as the world makes efforts to maintain balance in an ever-evolving global ecosystem.
