At least 5,540 recipients of Sinopharm, 780 of Sinovac, 201 of CanSinoBIO, and 153 of AstraZeneca suffered side effects. No side effects from the other approved vaccines such as Pfizer, Moderna, and Sputnik V have been reported yet.

Around 20.5 million doses of different COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far. 4.1 million people have been fully vaccinated while 16.4 million have been partially vaccinated and only 6,000 suffered side effects after getting the vaccine.

In this regard, Federal Secretary for Health, Aamir Ashraf Khawaja, has said that all these side effects were minor and were treated without any complications, adding that it is absurd to think that the Coronavirus vaccine could kill someone or render some sort of damage to the body.

Khawaja noted that after a brief hiccup last month, the COVID-19 vaccination campaign has picked up the pace once again all over the country, with up to 0.5 million doses being administered daily.

The Health Ministry is now set to take the tally of daily administered COVID-19 vaccine doses to 1 million that will put the country on the right track to achieve the target of vaccinating 70 million citizens by the end of 2021.
