Iran is all set to export more electricity to Pakistan in the province of Balochistan. The country’s ambassador to Pakistan, Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini, stated this on Tuesday during a meeting with Federal Minister for Energy, Muhammad Hammad Azhar.
He informed that the necessary infrastructure is being built in this regard.
The two dignitaries discussed matters relating to cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
Hammad Azhar acknowledged that the import of electricity from Iran in the neighboring districts of Balochistan, especially Gwadar, is playing a pivotal role in the provision of electricity to these areas.
“Pakistan government is committed to working for further enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector as per a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed during the visit of Pakistan’s premier to Iran.”
The Iranian ambassador stressed close coordination between relevant organizations dealing with the import of electricity for the early materialization of the new project.
