Speaking on a news channel on Thursday, Dr Faisal Sultan, SAPM on National Health Services hinted the closing of public transport on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
He said that the number of COVID-19 cases is once again on the rise.
Further, he said that the number of positive cases in Punjab is less than Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkwa. He added that the government is considering closing areas which were reporting higher number of cases. More restrictions will be in place and public transport will be closed in those areas, he told. Vaccinated individuals will be allowed at tourist spots as well.
According to the statistics released by National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), more than 2500 cases were reported in the last 24 hours. With the rise in delta variant cases, authorities have requested that the public comply with SOPs. Commenting on PML N’s campaign in Kashmir, Dr. Faisal Sultlan said that SOPs were ignored which could result in a spike in cases in the region.
