Govt Increases Petrol Price by Rs. 1.71

The government has approved an increase of Rs. 1.71 per liter for petrol following a rise in prices in the international market.

The Finance Division in a statement on Saturday explained that the price hike is due to a price hike in the international market. They further stated that the decision was made as per the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).  As per the notification, the new price of petrol after an increase of Rs. 1.71 is Rs. 119.80 per liter.

The price of kerosene oil has also increased, which will now be sold at Rs. 87.14 after an increase of Rs. 0.35 per liter. However, the prices of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) were kept unchanged at Rs. 116.53 and Rs. 84.67 respectively.

Recently, on the 15th of July, the government had approved an increase in prices of all petroleum products referring to the price hike in the international market. This is the second time in 15 days that prices have gone up.
