Islamabad and Rawalpindi Impose Partial Lockdown to Contain COVID-19

District administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have imposed smart lockdown in 64 streets and areas of twin cities after a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases.

According to details, 49 streets in Islamabad while 15 areas of Rawalpindi have been sealed by respective civil administrations as over 550 people in both cities tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Islamabad’s administration has sealed streets 1, 2, 6 in E-11/4, streets 46 and 53 in F-11/3, street 8 in G-6/2, streets 56, 62, 66, 67, 91, 93, 96, 98, 99, 100 in G-9/4 and streets 52, 53, 69 and 70 in G-10/3.

Streets 30, 32, 45, 47, 48, 49, 74 in G-13/2, streets 91, 92, 95, 109 in I-8/4, street 15 in I-8/1, street 78 in I-8/3, street 28-B in I-9/4, streets 55, 56, 57 58, 61, 64, 65, 80, 81, 82, 83 in I-10/1, streets 32 and 33 in I-10/2, street 26 in I-10/4, and street 19-A in G-15/1 have been sealed as well.

On the other hand, Rawalpindi’s administration has imposed smart lockdowns in the areas of Umar and Abu Bakar blocks Phase-8 Bahria Town, street 16 in Dhoke Khabba, Arya Mohallah, New Gulzar-i-Quaid, St 16 in New Lalazar Wah Cantt, Askari 14, Chatri Chowk KRL, Dhoke Kashmirian, Morgah, Mohallah Aliabad, 7th Road Satellite Town, Tench Bhatta, Lalazar, Village Nara Kahuta, Quaid-i-Azam Colony, and Nai Abadi Naseerabad.

Meanwhile, Mass Vaccination Centers (MVCs) in twin cities have emerged as breeding grounds for Coronavirus as hundreds of citizens are visiting them every day for vaccinations with complete disregard for SOPs.
