According to the report, the company is optimizing the Microsoft launcher for Surface Duo 2. It will bring new features and some of them could be inspired by Android 11. The current Surface Duo runs on the older Android 10 OS, but will also get the Microsoft Launcher update with Android 11 as soon as the Surface Duo 2 is launched.

As for hardware, the Surface Duo 2 is expected to bring major camera upgrades. There will be a triple camera sensor where the main lens will be accompanied by a telephoto sensor and an ultrawide unit. We also hope to see upgrades to the selfie camera since the current one does not have the best front camera.

It will feature the same dual-screen folding design as the original Surface Duo, but with better durability and other improvements. It is also expected to feature the Snapdragon 888 SoC with support for 5G and NFC.

As for the launch date, Microsoft’s Program manager Vishnu Nath has vaguely teased the October announcement for Surface Duo 2, but there is no confirmation on that just yet.
