BISP & Sindh Govt to Provide Stipend to Deserving College Students

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Sindh college education department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday to provide stipends to deserving college students across the province.

Sindh Colleges Director-General, Ghulam Mustafa, and BISP Director-General Waseela-e-Taaleem, Naveed Akbar, signed the MoU at the office of the Sindh college department secretary.

Sindh College Secretary, Khalid Hyder Shah, and BISP Sindh Director General, Fouzia Basharat Samo, also attended the ceremony.

The purpose of the MoU is to build a partnership between BISP and the provincial college education department to implement a co-responsibility cash transfer (CCT) and promote higher secondary and intermediate education under the Waseela-e-Taleem program in Sindh.

Furthermore, the MoU will ensure that higher secondary education is provided to the most vulnerable and marginalized families in Sindh.
