Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, announced the ministry’s initiative to revamp PTV Sports and PTV Home.
While the overhauling of PTV News is already afoot, the Information Minister is now diverting his attention towards its sports and entertainment channels.
“After PTV News, we are revamping PTV Sports and Entertainment,” Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet.

The minister also announced a new series on the life of the Mughal Emperor Babur and the legendary Urdu and Persian poet of the 19th century, Mizra Ghalib.
“PTV will make an elaborate drama series on [Mughal emperor] Babar and poet Mirza Ghalib in partnership with Uzbekistan,” he shared on his Twitter handle.
The latest development came just less than a week after Pakistan and Turkey entered a contract to co-produce a television series on the life of Sultan Salahuddin al-Ayyubi, a revered Muslim general who recaptured Jerusalem from the Crusaders in 1187.

Emre Konuk, the owner of Turkey’s Akli Films, announced that they had reached an agreement on Saturday.
“A happy news on a blessed Friday night! Contract signed between Akli Films and Ansari&Shah Films about Sultan Selahaddin Ayyubi,” Konuk tweeted.
The series, featuring actors from Turkey and Pakistan, will be shot in Turkey and is rumored to have three seasons.
