Health Ministry Launches OPD Pilot Project Under Sehat Sahulat Program

The Ministry of Health on Wednesday launched the Sehat Sahulat Program- OPD Pilot Project in Islamabad.

Addressing the launch event, the SAPM on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, said that only selective beneficiaries will be able to avail the OPD services in this phase. The Sehat Sahulat Program will be expanded to all residents of Islamabad by end of December 2021.

During the pilot project phase, Primary Healthcare level OPD services, including SRHR and FP services, will be provided through General Practitioners (GPs) using the Essential Package of Health Services (EPHS)

The OPD services available in this phase include open-heart surgeries, insertion of stents, management of cancer, neurosurgical procedures, burn management, accident management, dialysis, intensive care management, deliveries, C-sections, and other essential medical and surgical procedures.

Dr. Faisal said the beneficiaries of Sehat Sahulat Program can now also use the inter-provincial or inter-district portability facility for availing free of cost services from any hospital on the panel of the program in the country.

He added that the OPD Pilot Project has been launched in Islamabad on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, who envisioned the provision of free-of-cost healthcare services to all citizens under the Sehat Sahulat Program.

The Sehat Sahulat Program will be launched in Gilgit Baltistan next, revealed the SAPM, adding that the flagship program of the incumbent government will significantly improve the access to quality healthcare services across the country.
