Sindh Govt to Ban Unvaccinated Citizens From Public Transport

In a bid to speed up the ongoing vaccination campaign, the Sindh government has decided to ban unvaccinated citizens from using public transport across the province from 15 September.

Speaking to the media, Sindh’s Transport Minister, Syed Awais Shah, said the citizens will not be allowed to board public transport without COVID-19 vaccination certificates after the deadline.

Fully vaccinated citizens are advised to keep their COVID-19 vaccination certificates with them while traveling after the deadline while unvaccinated vaccinated citizens are advised to receive the first dose of a two-dose Coronavirus vaccine before 15 September if they want to continue using public transport.

Partially vaccinated citizens can use public transport after the deadline by showing the SMS from 1166 helpline which contains the date on which their second dose will be due, added the Minister.

He concluded that only vaccinated citizens of Sindh will be allowed to travel on motorways from October 15.

Recently, the Sindh government fixed 30 September as the deadline for COVID-19 vaccination for its citizens. It has already declared COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for entry into educational institutes, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, and wedding halls.
