Pakistani students can apply online for the fully funded Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program for the academic year 2022-23 by 15 September.
Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (K-L YES) is a one-year high school exchange program, sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and implemented by a consortium of organizations headed by the American Councils for International Education.
Its eligibility criteria require candidates to be Pakistani citizens, between 15 to 17 years of age by 15 August 2022, and currently enrolled in either Grades 9 or 10 or in O Level.
The program encourages females, students with physical abilities, and students from non-elite and government schools to apply.
The fully-funded program will cover the airfare, accommodation, meals, health insurance, and stipends of the selected candidates.
K-L YES has provided scholarships to 1,351 high school students from across Pakistan since 2003, giving them an opportunity to attend high school in the United States for a year.
