Sindh to Make Vaccination Certificates Mandatory for Hotels & Restaurants

The Health Department of Sindh has instructed the provincial Home Department to mandate coronavirus vaccination certificates at restaurants and hotels.

The health department stated in a letter sent to the Home Department on Sunday that as suggested by the provincial task force, the certificates should be made mandatory for hotels and restaurants so that unvaccinated people may be restricted from availing of the indoor dining facility.

According to its COVID-19 standard operating procedure issued last week, citizens who fail to produce proof of their vaccinations must be prohibited from dining in restaurants or staying at hotels.

The health department has also proposed that the SIM cards of unvaccinated citizens should be blocked.

The provincial government had written a letter to the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) on Sunday, requesting it to make vaccination certificates mandatory for bank services. The department has sought the NCOC’s directives for bankers and post office staff to deny services to non-vaccinated citizens and to offer services to those who are fully vaccinated.
