A private torture cell has been discovered at Mayo Hospital in Lahore which was being used to arrest and torture the attendees of patients.
According to reports, Mayo Hospital’s Janitorial Staff Supervisor, Zohaib was running a torture cell inside the hospital where he used to torture the attendees.
A video of Zohaib went viral on social media in which it was seen that the alleged was torturing, kicking the victims with shoes, and beating them up with folded hands to apologize.
It is reported that Zohaib used to attend patients and their attendees on suspicion of theft and drug trafficking and tortured them.
The Medical Superintendent (MS) at Mayo Hospital, Dr. Iftikhar fired the three workers including Zohaib who were allegedly involved in the case.
“Physical violence and harassment are obnoxious,” Dr. Iftikhar said.
“Janitor Supervisor was only assigned for the cleaning and was tasked with preventing unauthorized persons from entering the hospital at night, not for running private torture cells,” he added.
Besides, a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
