Punjab Traffic Police Vehicles Are Getting Modern Gadgets

To ensure enforcement of traffic rules, the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) has decided to equip the traffic police with special data tablets. This will allow the City Traffic Police to keep track of the offenders, their criminal records, and other data against stolen and banned vehicles.

According to a report, the PSCA has installed the tablets in 8 Police Response Unit (PRU) vehicles. At the inauguration ceremony of the vehicles equipped with these tablets, Chief Operating Officer of PSCA, Muhammad Kamran Khan, informed that these vehicles will be stationed at Shahdara, Kahna, Sherakot, Chung, and Harbanspura.

During his media talk, CPO and Additional IG, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, stated that these vehicles will play an instrumental role in enforcing law and order in Pakistan.

He added that these vehicles will allow the on-duty personnel to keep track of all the necessary information and take the appropriate action against the offenders.

About three weeks ago, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Punjab Traffic Police, Sohail Akhtar, informed that the process of obtaining a driver’s license has been computerized to ensure transparency and convenience for the citizens.

DIG Traffic added that any corruption in the process will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those involved in such practices.
