Transport Dept to Construct 200 Bus Stop Shelters in Lahore

The Transport Department has decided to construct 200 bus stop shelters in Lahore.

According to the details, Rs. 498 million has been allocated to construct these shelters that will feature bus information and a scheduling system to provide better services to commuters.

The spokesperson for the Transport Department disclosed that Rs. 25 million has been allocated in the current fiscal year and the department is planning to improve the infrastructure of the bus stops to facilitate commuters, especially women, elderly citizens, and differently-abled persons, and ensure that they reach their destinations hassle-free.

In other news, a campaign has been launched in London to promote Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and project a soft image of the country. The initiative involves 150 iconic red London buses emblazoned with the tagline ‘Lahore — The Heart of Pakistan’ that are traversing various routes of the city to project Lahore’s beauty and culture.
