I am still looking for a school that can share the character traits and Emotional intelligence of its students as achievement instead of grades and IQ level.
How much they focus on building these charachter traits?
I have been teaching A-level students for almost 25 years. Students of all the renowned schools of Pakistan are my students. I hardly see good manners, emotional intelligence and respecting the culture of the society. The school hires part time teachers who just do exam cramming. From the first day the focus is on achieving grade only.
I have taught ME students also . I remember the comment of a rude principal of ME who told me ” your market value is less than what you demanded”. These schools judge ” market value ” from no of tuition students associated with ta branded teacher so that the teacher can bring students for them. Such A level institutes become sycophants to “Branded teacher ” to get more admission. Most of their teachers do not have basic teaching license which is the main criterion for teaching.
They just focus on short cuts and exam cramming notes and make their learners addicted to notes and past papers only. As these teachers are not aware of Bloom’s Taxonomy, critical thinking skills, constructivist approaches in Teaching and Learning, multiple intelligence theory etc so their students fail in those life learning skills when they reach to universities abroad. I remember that our counsellor said that the school got letter from renowned Universities complaining about failure of our students in behaving with resilience and emotional intelligence despite of high A*s.
