Otis Khan Hopeful of Playing for Pakistan Again

Pakistan’s winger, Otis Khan is hopeful about rejoining the Pakistan team, despite missing the World Cup qualifiers against Cambodia earlier this month.

Otis Khan was informed just two hours prior to the first-leg of the qualifying match that he would be unable to take part in the game.

While speaking to BBC Radio, Otis Khan said, “I’m sure it will be resolved. The conversation has been positive. Things are looking well at the moment. I’ve got a Pakistani passport and an identity card.”

He added, “Fifa needs to get a few more letters and documents from the Pakistani government, and I’m sure it’ll be resolved.”

It must be noted that Otis Khan had previously made his debut against Mauritius and has played 6 times for Pakistan, but a question regarding his eligibility led to his exclusion.

Moreover, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has advocated for Khan’s situation. This comes in response to Khan’s absence in the Cambodia match.

That historic victory over Cambodia placed the Pakistan team in a group with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Tajikistan in the second round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
