Motorway Police to Launch E-Ticketing App for Fine Payments

The National Highways and Motorway Police are cracking down on traffic violations and making it easier to pay fines with two new initiatives.

Inspector General Salman Chaudhry announced the launch of a new e-ticketing app on August 14th. This app will streamline the ticketing process, issuing a single digital ticket for any violations.

In addition to the app, Chaudhry highlighted their success in enforcing weight restrictions on trucks. With a 98% compliance rate for axle load regulations, overloaded vehicles are less likely to cause accidents on the highways.

Dastak Doorstep Services

In related news, the government of Punjab has recently launched a citizen facilitation app that lets you acquire government documents without going to their offices. The app is called Dastak Doorstep Services on Google Play Store, but is being marketed online as “Maryam ki Dastak.”

Here’s how it works: Birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, vehicle registrations – you name it, this app can get them for you. Just provide the basics – passport photos, your CNIC (national ID card), and any other required forms.

A government agent or a trusted helper will then visit your home to collect everything for a fee of Rs. 1,200. Once they have what they need, the processing begins, and your documents will be delivered back to you within 9 days.

This service goes beyond just an app – it creates earning opportunities too. Anyone can become a “Dastak Facilitator” through a separate app and earn a commission by helping others get their documents. However, for now, this program might be limited to Lahore.

Here are the eligibility criteria for becoming a facilitator and earning through the app.
