The project will cut electricity costs and offer a clean, sustainable energy source for schools. Solar panels will be installed on the roofs of selected schools to achieve these goals.

The spokesperson added that savings from the solar project will be reinvested to enhance educational facilities in the federal capital. It is pertinent to mention that recently, PM Shehbaz Sharif announced that no new duties will be imposed on solar panels to promote access to renewable energy.

At the federal cabinet meeting, he stated that the government is committed to providing affordable renewable solar energy to all citizens in Pakistan.
