Realme’s popular GT series of smartphones may be discontinued this year as the brand exits China.
Renowned tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has claimed that Realme’s entire product lineup in China has been discontinued, with phones expected to sell out in November. This means we may never get to see new Realme GT series phones, since they originate from China.
If the claim is accurate, Realme is unlikely to launch the GT 9 or Neo 9 series in China this year.
Realme has already said it will shift more attention to overseas markets, where it sees stronger growth opportunities, especially in performance and gaming-focused segments.
Digital Chat Station also claims that Realme’s overseas lineup will be different from its China lineup.
According to the leak, international markets may not receive new GT or Neo series models. Instead, Realme’s numbered series is expected to replace them in several regions.
This would mark a major change for the brand, as the GT and Neo lines have been associated with performance-focused smartphones.
The leak also points to a narrower global product strategy.
Realme is reportedly focusing only on smartphones and audio products in overseas markets for now. The company currently has no tablets or laptops planned, according to the tipster.
However, a gaming tablet is reportedly being considered for the future.
The same leak also mentions OnePlus.
According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus currently has no plans to collaborate with Ricoh for camera technology. Instead, the brand is expected to continue focusing on gaming performance.
Recent reports claim the upcoming OnePlus 16 will feature a 185Hz refresh rate display, a larger battery, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. These details suggest OnePlus may continue prioritizing raw performance.
The reported changes also align with Oppo’s broader software strategy.
Under Oppo’s latest global plan, eligible OnePlus and Realme devices will eventually be able to switch to the latest version of ColorOS as software integration across the brands moves ahead.
This could bring Realme, OnePlus, and Oppo devices closer under a shared software ecosystem.
Realme has not officially confirmed the cancellation of the GT 9 or Neo 9 series.
