No More New Vehicles for Assembly Secretariat: NA Speaker

In a decisive move to promote fiscal responsibility, National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has banned purchasing new vehicles for the National Assembly Secretariat.

The new policy mandates that NA officers and Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) who benefit from monetization schemes must use existing government vehicles and make payments according to the established rules. Demonstrating his commitment to austerity, Speaker Sadiq is not getting a new vehicle and has reduced his protocol vehicles to just two.

Additionally, the Speaker has banned unnecessary foreign trips for delegations, permitting such visits only for essential international events like IPU meetings with minimal delegation. Official lunches and dinners are now restricted to foreign dignitaries only, with no refreshments provided during routine meetings.

The Speaker has also ordered the withdrawal of vehicles from all officials of the National Assembly Secretariat who avail themselves of the monetization facility. These officials must pay for their travel outside the city according to the rules.
