History Created as Two Pakistani Women Volleyball Players Sign With Foreign Club

In a historic milestone, two players from the Pakistan women’s volleyball team have signed up for the Women’s Volleyball League in the Maldives.

Captain Azra Farooq and vice-captain Muqadas Bukhari will represent the Maldivian club Al Fawz in the MZC Ladies Cup, which begins on July 25th. This event marks the first time in Pakistan’s history that female volleyball players will represent a foreign club.

Azra Farooq and Muqadas Bukhari, both pivotal figures in their national team, have been contracted for one month. Their participation in this international tournament is a significant achievement for the athletes and the Pakistan Volleyball Federation.

Expressing her excitement, Azra Farooq highlighted the importance of this opportunity, stating it is a historic moment for the Pakistan women’s volleyball team. “It is the first time players have been included in a team for an international tournament outside the country,” she said.

Their inclusion in the Maldivian club is expected to bring attention to the growing talent in Pakistan’s women’s volleyball scene and inspire young athletes in the country.

This achievement not only showcases the players’ skills but also paves the way for future international opportunities for female athletes from Pakistan.

The MZC Ladies Cup promises to be an exciting event, with Azra Farooq and Muqadas Bukhari set to make their debut on the club stage internationally, representing both their club and their country with pride.
