Pakistan Women’s Team Secures Semi-final Berth in Women’s Asia Cup

In a dominating performance at the Women’s Asia Cup, the Pakistan women’s cricket team secured an emphatic 10-wicket victory over the U.A.E. women’s team.

The match showcased Pakistan’s all-round prowess, starting with a disciplined bowling attack that restricted the U.A.E. to a modest 103-8 in their allotted overs.

The trio of Nashra Sandhu, Tuba Hassan, and Sadia Iqbal were instrumental in dismantling the U.A.E. batting lineup, each claiming two wickets and applying consistent pressure throughout the first innings.

U.A.E.’s innings struggled to gain momentum against Pakistan’s accurate and strategic bowling. Despite some resistance, the U.A.E. batters could not build significant partnerships, ultimately setting a target that was within reach for the strong Pakistani batting order.

In the second innings, Pakistan chased down the total with ease in the 15th over, thanks largely to a superb performance by Gull Feroza.

Feroza played a match-winning knock, scoring 62 runs off just 55 deliveries. Her aggressive yet controlled batting ensured that the required run rate was never a concern for Pakistan.

Complementing her at the crease was Muneeba Ali, who provided solid support with her crucial 37 runs and contributed significantly to an unbroken 107-run partnership. Ali’s steady play allowed Feroza to take on the U.A.E. bowlers confidently.

Pakistan reached the target with six overs to spare, marking a comprehensive victory that showcased their dominance in the tournament. This win boosts strengthens Pakistan’s position in the Women’s Asia Cup, highlighting their potential to clinch the title.

The Girls in Green have now booked their place in the semi-finals after finishing second in the Group A alongside group-leaders India who defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the first game.
