The federal government has finalized the estimated payments to be paid to independent power producers (IPPs) in terms of capacity payments during the current fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25).
Sources told ProPakistani that as per government estimates, an amount of Rs. 2,091 billion will be paid to various power plants in terms of capacity payments during the fiscal year 2024-25.
Nuclear plants will receive capacity payments of Rs. 465 billion. Hydropower power plants will receive capacity payments of Rs. 446 billion while imported coal power plants will receive capacity payments of Rs. 395 billion.
Similarly, Thar Coal plants will receive capacity payments of Rs. 256 billion. LNG power plants are estimated to receive capacity payments of Rs. 168 billion while wind energy plants will be paid Rs. 168 billion in the form of capacity payments.
Furnace Oil plants will receive Rs. 81 billion while gas power plants are set to receive Rs. 61 billion during the current fiscal year.
Solar power plants are estimated to receive Rs. 41 billion while Bagasse plants will receive Rs. 6.90 billion.

This capacity charges doctrine destroyed Pakistan’s economy in last 10 years.
Pay them accordingly to their “Output Capacity” into national grid, not their “Total Capacity”, and pay them only in PKR.
The problem will be solved.
