New Electric Bus Routes Announced in Karachi

The Sindh Transport Department has introduced a new route for the electric bus service in Karachi, aiming to enhance convenience for residents. The newly established route, named “EV-4,” spans 55 kilometers, linking Super Highway to Numaish Chowrangi. PPP MPAs Raja Abdul Razzaq and Sajid Jokhio officiated the inauguration of this route.

According to Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon, the EV-4 route will travel through key areas such as Dumba Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sohrab Goth, and Al-Asif Square, thereby providing benefits to the communities of Ayesha Manzil, Lalukhait, and Teen Hatti.

Memon highlighted that this initiative is expected to stimulate local economies, reduce travel costs, and ease traffic congestion. He restated the government’s commitment to offering affordable and modern transportation solutions, noting that more buses will be introduced and additional routes will be developed in the future.

In an earlier announcement this July, the Sindh Transport Department revealed three new routes for the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi. The new routes include a service from Hawksbay to Tower, starting on July 22, and an extension of Route 12. From July 23, the Peoples Bus Service will also begin operating from Qaidabad, Korangi, and Memon Goth to Tower, previously served by the route from Khokhrapar.
