Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds Disrupt Flight Operations at Lahore Airport

Intense rainfall and strong winds caused major disruptions at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, leading to a halt in flight operations for several hours.

Due to the severe weather, three international flights, including those by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), were rerouted to Multan and Peshawar airports.

Flights coming from Abu Dhabi and Bahrain were specifically diverted to Multan Airport. Officials confirmed that a flight from Riyadh was also redirected to an alternate airport.

A Doha-bound flight from a private airline reached Lahore after a seven-hour delay. Furthermore, the severe weather led to significant delays for more than a dozen other international flights arriving and departing from Lahore.

Airport staff are actively working to get flights back on schedule after the disruptions. Passengers are encouraged to reach out to their airlines for the most recent updates on their flight statuses.
