Previously, Rule 17A allowed the children or spouse of a civil servant who passed away during service to receive government jobs under the service quota.

With the removal of this rule, family members of deceased civil servants will no longer be eligible for such employment benefits.

This change marks a significant shift in policy, impacting many families who previously relied on this provision for job security following the loss of a loved one in government service.
