Huawei Teases Its Next Flip Phone With Launch Date

Rumor has it that Huawei will launch its Nova 13 phone series in China in August. We might see models like the Nova 13, Nova 13 Pro, and Nova 13 Ultra. But Huawei hasn’t said anything official yet.

Today, Huawei dropped a video showing its first flip phone under the Nova brand. This phone will be out on August 6 in China and the Nova 13 series may launch alongside it.

Check out the teaser video below.

Huawei has shown off a green version of its new flip phone, the Nova Flip. When you open it, there’s a punch-hole on the screen for the front camera. The phone has buttons for volume and power on the right side. The power button doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

At the top of the phone, there’s a microphone. The bottom has a spot for your SIM card, another microphone, a USB-C plug, and a speaker. On the back, there’s a rectangular shape with two main cameras lined up and a smaller square screen.

We don’t know much about the tech inside Huawei’s new Nova Flip phone yet. The company also makes flip phones under the Pocket lineup, and earlier this year released the Pocket 2 with a Kirin chip for about $1,000. Since the Nova brand is for younger people, the Nova Flip probably won’t have the top-of-the-line specs.

It is unclear if the phone will be released internationally. If we were to guess, it is highly unlikely due to Huawei’s subdued influence in the global market thanks to US sanctions.
