Huawei unexpectedly unveiled the Mate 60 Pro last year, equipped with a 7nm 5G-capable Kirin 9000s chipset and other components despite US sanctions.
Now, industry insider DigitalChatStation suggests that the highly anticipated Mate 70 series will be delayed until the latter half of this year. A precise launch date will likely be leaked before an official announcement from Huawei later this year.
The upcoming Mate 70 series is expected to feature several improvements, including a more powerful Kirin 9100 chipset, a high-resolution LTPO OLED display with advanced facial recognition, and a main camera with a variable aperture and a high-quality OmniVision OV50K sensor. Additionally, the phones are rumored to have larger batteries exceeding 5,000 mAh capacity.
There is no word on the phone’s design as of yet, so we will have to wait for leaks which will get more accurate as the phone’s launch date draws near.

Huawei’s Mate series phones have been going with a circular main camera design for several generations now so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar appearance with a twist on the Huawei Mate 70. The camera should also be labeled with the usual Xmage branding.
Stay tuned for updates.
