Several Gulf countries have recently raised issues about Pakistani workers and expatriates employed in their regions, signaling growing concerns about the labor force.
During a briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis, Secretary Dr. Arshad stated that the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait have expressed concerns regarding different matters involving Pakistani expatriates.
The committee was informed about the inappropriate behavior of Pakistani nationals in the UAE, including filming videos in front of women in Dubai.
Annually between 600,000 and 800,000 Pakistanis travel abroad, with 200,000 to 300,000 returning. Notably, 96% of these travelers head to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
During the briefing, officials revealed that the UAE has reported an excess of Pakistani expatriates, surpassing their allotted quota of 1.6 million, and reaching 1.8 million.
Furthermore, Pakistanis traveling to Malaysia often overstay their visas and end up in jail. There are also reports of Pakistanis illegally entering Iraq, though the exact figures remain unclear. According to officials, Saudi Arabia has asked Pakistan to stop sending beggars and people with health problems.
Officials expressed concerns about the lack of proper training for Pakistanis going abroad, leading to their replacement by workers from other countries. They also pointed out issues with work ethics and attitudes, citing that Pakistanis are involved in half of the crimes in the UAE.

When our leaders made this country hell . What do you expect ?
Exactly. It’s the parents in Pakistan, the root of all problems.
Kick them out. These old folks with old attitude.
Please take strict action against them. Also don’t allow them to take pictures and videos of women and children.
Concept of privacy in Pakistan is not discussed and our people think that they can behave the same in Other countries. Gulf countries should not allow men groups to enter into shopping malls and parks.
