The Met Office has announced that strong monsoon currents are expected to move from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal into the northern regions starting from the night of July 31. These currents will then spread to central and southern areas from August 2. The expected weather impacts are as follows:
Kashmir: Rain with wind and thunderstorms, including scattered heavy falls, is forecasted from the night of July 31 to August 6. Areas affected include Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur, with occasional breaks.
Punjab/Islamabad: Rain with wind and thunderstorms, including scattered heavy to very heavy falls, is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali from August 1 to August 6, with occasional gaps.
In Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah, rain with wind and thunderstorms, including heavy falls, is expected from August 2 to August 6, with occasional breaks.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rain with wind and thunderstorms, including scattered heavy to very heavy falls, is forecasted from the evening/night of August 1 to August 6 in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan, with occasional breaks.
Balochistan: Rain with wind and thunderstorms, including some heavy falls, is expected from the evening/night of August 2 to August 6 in Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Panjgur, Ketch, Kalat, Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Mastung, Sibbi, Shirani, Kohlu, Bolan, Harnai, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, and the Makran coast, with occasional breaks.
Sindh: Rain with wind and thunderstorms, including scattered heavy to very heavy falls, is forecasted from the night of August 2 to August 6 in Mithi, Sanghar, Mitayari, Nausheroferoz, Jamshoro, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Khairpur, Thatta, Badin, Chhor, Padidan, Sajawal, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Dadu, with occasional breaks.
Gilgit-Baltistan: Mainly partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected, with rain possible from the evening/night of August 3 to August 6 in Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar, with occasional breaks.
