Provincial Management Service Candidates Urge KP Govt to Increase Age Limit

Candidates for the Provincial Management Service (PMS) have urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to enforce the decision to extend the upper age limit for the examination.

Syed Haris, President of the PMS Aspirants Association, and Vice President Zakria have called on the provincial government to implement its previous decision to relax the upper age limit for the PMS examination.

They added that this would secure the future of thousands of youth in the province. They stated they had previously met with ministers and officials to advocate for raising the upper age limit to 35 for general candidates and 37 for government officials.

Despite the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly passing a resolution in their favor, no action has been taken to relax the age limits. They demanded that the government implement the decision to safeguard the future of the candidates.

It is pertinent to mention that in May, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly passed resolutions to extend the age limit for the PMS from 30 to 37 years. The resolution proposed raising the age limit for female candidates in the PMS exams from 30 to 35 years and extending the limit for government employees to 37 years.

The resolution presented by MPA Shafiullah Jan highlighted that the requirement for PMS candidates has shifted from a two-year bachelor’s degree to a four-year degree. As a result, it advocated raising the age limit for PMS exams to accommodate these updated educational requirements.
